Meet The Team

Jennifer Melly law is a firm which specialises in private client work particularly in the area of elderly client law. The firm deals with Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney, Funeral Plans, Court of Protection, Trusts and Estates, Long Term Care Planning, Property Transactions, Tax Advice, Will Disputes, Agricultural and Rural Affairs. The firm aims to provide an efficient and friendly service, whilst also being approachable and putting clients at ease. The firm has experienced lawyers who are specialists in their fields and strive to provide a high level of service.

Private Client Department

Jennifer Melly

Jennifer’s reputation is unequalled in the field of trusts, wills and all aspects of private client work. She has recruited staff to work with her who share her ethos of always “going the extra mile” for her clients. She previously led a large team of lawyers at Hutchinson Thomas in Neath. She is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners and a member of Solicitors for the Elderly.

Nia Evans

Nia graduated from Swansea University in 2013 and completed the Legal Practice Course the following year. Nia joined the firm from Sally Goldstone Family Law before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2016. Nia works alongside Jennifer practising in Private Client Law dealing with Trusts, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. She was also an Ambassador for Swansea University and acted in HMP Swansea as a Restorative Justice Facilitator.

Kate Morgan

Kate is a Solicitor and joined the firm in September 2017 as a legal assistant after completing her law degree and Legal Practice Course at Swansea University. Kate undertook a law research internship at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in Boston. She is also a member of the Swansea Junior Lawyers Division. Kate works alongside Jennifer practising in Private Client Law dealing with Trusts, Wills, Estates and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Lowri Woodley

Lowri is a Solicitor working alongside Jennifer practising in Private Client Law. Lowri graduated from Swansea University and qualified as a Solicitor in 2015. Lowri is a fluent Welsh speaker and is always friendly and approachable.

Conveyancing Department

Tom Grimes

Tom is a Solicitor practising in the Conveyancing Department in Cardiff having joined the firm in the summer of 2014. A Swansea University graduate, he was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2017. Tom is a former volunteer for the charity Hafal who specialise in protecting vulnerable people when detained by police and was also a law research intern at the University of Central Oklahoma in America. Tom is a fluent Welsh speaker.

Callum

Callum Priestley

Having graduated from Cardiff University in 2021 with a first-class honours in Law, Callum joined the firm as a conveyancing paralegal in 2022. During his studies, Callum also volunteered as an Appropriate Adult. He aspires to become a solicitor, and intends to begin his LPC/SQE in September 2023.

 

Support Staff

Catrin Burbage

Catrin is the Office Manager and joined the firm upon opening. She is a key member of the team, providing support to all the departments and assists in the daily management of the firm. Catrin liaises with clients, staff and suppliers, facilitating the efficient functioning of the office through a range of administrative, clerical, financial and managerial tasks.

Dawn Spencer

Dawn has worked with Jennifer for many years – her girl Friday – she is thoroughly reliable and is a Fellow of the Institute of Paralegals.

Catherine Lines

Catherine has over ten years experience working in the law. She is Kate Morgan’s secretary.

Renn

Renn Hubbuck-Melly

Renn Hubbuck-Melly is a secretary and receptionist to Tom. An outgoing, extroverted person, she loves helping clients when she can.

Crystal

Crystal Jeans

Crystal Jeans, an MPhil graduate in creative writing, joined the company in 2018. She supports Tom as a secretary and receptionist.
