£6,000 raised for Ty Olwen and Tonna Hospital

In March we held a charity auction at Blasus Training Restaurant, Neath College to raise money in aid of Ty Olwen and Tonna Hospital.

We raised the sum of £6,000 pounds with the generous support of Barclays Bank, Neath who donated £2,000 and The Swansea Building Society who donated 1,000.

The Ty Olwen Trust will use the money to purchase at least one new specialist electronically operated chair for patients which cost £1,800 each.

The money donated to Ty Olwen and Tonna Hospital will be used towards refurbishing the `Forget Me Not` garden on the hospital grounds. Patients and their relatives will be able to benefit from the newly refurbished garden and patio with a new sheltered area which will offer a calm and supportive environment for patients who suffer from dementia and other forms of mental health problems.

We also raised additional funds for Ty Olwen throughout March 2015 by preparing Wills for clients at no charge, but asking that they instead make a donation to Ty Olwen.

Since opening in October 2011, Jennifer Melly Law have held regular charitable events and have raised a total of £30,000 for both local and national charities.
